VENEZUELA’S OUTGOING AMBASSADOR REFLECTS ON TENURE

Outgoing Venezuelan Ambassador Leiff Escalona is hoping that he ties between her country and Saint Lucia will stand the test of time. St. Lucia recently voted at the OAS to not recognize the legitimacy of President Nicolas Maduro’s second term in office, but says government will hold true to the principle of non-intervention in Venezuela’s internal affairs. Venezuela was St. Lucia’s first Diplomatic ally post-Independence and the ambassador is hoping that the relationship survives this period.
