Throne Speech Heralds Paradigm Shift

Governor General her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy officially opened the 1st session of the 11th parliament on Tuesday, with the traditional throne speech.
It was an opportunity for the country to learn about government’s legislative agenda for the fiscal year.
It addressed a range of topics that touched on election campaign promises of restructuring the criminal justice system and Value Added Tax (Vat), to proposed changes to the public sector.
