Health minister Mary Isaac says every individual has a part to play in preventing or reporting child abuse.
Recently, the nurses association expressed concern that when its members report suspected cases of abuse to the authorities, those agencies fail to follow up and ensure justice for the young victims.
Isaac says the legal framework is in place, but adds
That what’s needed is a zero tolerance attitude towards abuse.
