Team St. Lucia at the Sub-region 4 Tennis Championship in Trinidad & Tobago

Press Release- A group of three athletes represented St. Lucia in Trinidad & Tobago at the Sub-region 4 Championship.
The team compromise of three girls Alysa Elliott student of the St. Joseph’s Convent, Alannah Bousquet former student of the Montessori Centre who will be attending the St. Joseph’s Convent and Iyana Paul student of the Balata Primary School.

The team captain was Miss Scyla Murray, and coaches Mr. Vernon Lewis and National Coach Carlos Lopez.

The team faced Trinidad and Tobago team 2. Trinidad got the best of them winning 2-1.

Alysa Elliott played at racquet 1 winning her opponent 6-0 6-1.

Alannah Bousquet played at racquet 1, her opponent got the best of her.

The score then was tied at 1-1 with the doubles to decide.

It was Alannah Bousquet and Iyana Paul who partnered in the doubles winning the first set easily 6-3, the second set was not so favourable.

Trinidad came back winning 6-0. The third set was a super tie break where Trinidad won St. Lucia 10-5.

The team will be facing Guyana today and is expected to be victorious. We wish the team well and will keep you updated on their performance as they progress in the tournament.
