(PRESS RELEASE) – The Soufriere Foundation is persistently working on transforming the town of Soufriere.
Consequently, phase one of the Hummingbird Beach Project will recommence on Monday January 15th, 2018.
Senior Project Officer, Mr. Malcolm Mathurin stated “The project seeks to enhance the tourism product in Soufriere and to create economic activities for the area.”
The project comprises of beach bar, storage buildings, shops, washrooms, concession booth and rent-a-shacks.
The Hummingbird beach project will be completed within 3 months at an estimated a cost of $EC1.5 million.
“During this time, the beach will be accessible to pedestrians. However, it will be necessary to restrict vehicular access unto the beach” he said.
The public is urged to take precaution when traversing the area.
