The Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) has been successful in its efforts to secure regional and international media coverage for the 2017 edition of Saint Lucia Carnival.
Saint Lucia Carnival has continued to provide quality experiences to revelers at both public and private events and this year under the umbrella of Soleil – Saint Lucia Summer Festival, it is expected to attract visitors from across the region and its diaspora.
In an effort to share the rhythm, splendor and color of the island’s national Carnival events with thousands of viewers, the SLTB has partnered with a regional production company, West Park Global Media, to provide extensive coverage of Saint Lucia Carnival 2017.
West Park Global Media’s program, Rhythm and Buzz, airing from Thursday July 13 to Thursday July 20, will showcase the best of our national Carnival events in addition to exclusive interviews with artistes and organizers.
This program will be aired nightly on regional TV and seen in over 42 markets in the Caribbean and North America with a potential weekly audience of 1.2 million.
To further entice future revelers, an hour-long feature on Saint Lucian Carnival will also be shown on Caribbean TV stations, One Caribbean TV and Caribvision, with additional daily updates presented on CaribUpdate news which airs on 34 stations across the Region.
Saint Lucia Carnival – the third in the series of Soleil Saint Lucia Summer Festival – commences in June and reaches its climax in July with the colorful two-day parade of the bands in the streets of the capital city Castries.
Some of the major events marking the season are the early morning J’ouvert Jump-up, Junior Carnival, Carnival Queen Show Pageant, Calypso Finals, Panorama, and the Groovy and Soca Monarch competitions.
