School of Art and Design to host Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival

[Press Release] The School of Art and Design will be hosting its Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival on Sunday April 29, at the Baywalk Mall sidewalk area. The event begins from 10am and runs until 6pm and continues to showcase the work of aspiring and professional artists and designers in St. Lucia as well as foreign participants.

This year the School has partnered with The Blind Welfare Association to promote the sale of their drawing books at the event in support of raising funds for the organization. The drawings books will be on sale for $10 each and all proceeds will go to the organization.

Various secondary school Visual Arts students have also been invited to participate as well as the general public. There is a participation fee of $5 and $10 depending on the age of the participant as well as $25 for a group of three persons, which goes to cover the cost of the chalk.

The School has seen the event grow over the years and looks forward to having greater participation each year. Support for the event also continues to grow through the partnerships with Bank of Saint Lucia Ltd., Flow, KPL Logistics and Brokerage Services Inc., Subway St. Lucia, J.E. Bergasse and Co. Ltd., Calabash TV, Blue Waters and Baywalk Shopping Mall.
