St. Lucia has won another Courts OECS reading competition. Pearl Cornibert of the Lewis Eucharist SDA Primary School, emerged winner at the regional finals, held in Saint Lucia on Thursday May 24th.
The competition saw national champions from Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The participants were judged in two categories – narrative and news piece. Cornibert won $5,000 for herself and an additional $5,000 for her school.
All participants received gifts compliment courts and its sponsors
The competition is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and encourages reading, while assessing fluency, accuracy, enunciation, smoothness and confidence.
