Saint Lucia Suspends Importation Of Brazilian Corn Beef


Effective march 22nd, 2017, there will be no importation of corned beef from Brazil.
The government of Saint Lucia issued the immediate, temporary suspension following reports out of Brazil that several major meat processors have been selling rotten and otherwise substandard produce for many years.
A number of Caribbean countries, including Jamaica and Dominica have taken similar action and locally, health officials say they will also increase surveillance of establishments that trade in corned beef and related products.
