The Saint Lucia Medical and Dental Association (SLMDA) is fulfilling its mandate of medical education.
To this end; on October 7th to the 9th; the association partnered with the faculty of Medical Sciences at UWI, Cave Hill Barbados to host its 12th annual Continued Medical Education Convention in Saint Lucia.
The SLMDA must ensure that doctors, dentists, students and health-care workers skills and knowledge are up to par; to accommodate the global changes in medical field.
The conference started with a cocktail reception with a keynote speech on the topic “Ethics and Economics of Clinical Research – Opportunities, Challenges and Pitfalls from world-renowned physician; Dr. Bram Ramjiawan.
Gastrointestinal pathology was also up for discussion.
Additionally; Saint Lucia’s very own Dr. Earl Long addressed the association on Infectious Diseases.
Health Minister Senator Mary Isaac and the President of the Saint Lucia Medical & Dental Association (SLMDA), Dr. Jeanice Stanley-Jean also presented at the convention.
SLMDA officials report that the 12th annual Continued Medical Education Conference was a success.
