Saint Lucia Jazz Festival Mother’s Day Special

[Press Release]  The Saint Lucia Jazz Festival Mother’s Day Special at Pigeon Island National Landmark on Sunday, May 13 will mark the end of the week-long series of musical concerts.

Some of the world’s greatest performers will take the stage – from Martinique, jazz pianist, composer, producer and singer Frantz Laurac and his quartet, also performing Saint Lucian ensemble Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson & Friends. Boo will be accompanied by two of Saint Lucia’s youngest and most dynamic performers, eighteen-year-old saxophonist, Rashaad Joseph and fourteen-year-old pianist, Khristian Lawrence.

Robert Glasper and Terrace Martin teamed up with jazz trumpeter Christian Scott, bassist Derrick Hodge, drummer Justin Tyson and multi-instrumentalist Taylor McFerrin to form R+R=NOW (Reflect+Respond=NOW), a musical project, the name for which was inspired by the legacy of Nina Simone.

Songstress Avery*Sunshine rounds up the list of powerhouse performers. Touring her latest album Twenty Sixty-Four Avery*Sunshine is best known for her #1 single “Call My Name” which won her the ASCAP’s Rhythm and Soul song of the year 2016 award.
