Roseau road accident cuts power along westcoast

One motor vehicle accident along the Roseau thoroughfare cut the power to three major west-coast communities. Residents and businesses across Anse-la-Raye, Canaries and, Soufriere were [reportedly] without electricity when a vehicle veered off the road and into a utility pole just before 8am Sept. 27th. The impact downed the utility pole. First responders said managing the only accident victim was difficult.

”The sole occupant of the vehicle after being assessed by responding EMTs refused transportation to a medical facility for further assessment”, SLFS Stacy Joseph said.

Technicians were dispatched commence restoration works at the accident site. DSL/Internet, landline and cable services were reportedly also affected. A new utility pole was erected at the site.
