Raise Your Voice “concerned with the state and future” of healthcare

Press Release:-  Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. observed the disconnect between the Throne Speech by the Governor General and the Prime Minister and his Legislators presentations at the 2018/19 Estimates of Expenditure debate last week.

Vulnerable and marginalized populations have been totally confused and ostracized by the Prime Minister’s “There will be no more subsidies in the name of poor people” or words to that effect, we see no evidence of critical safety net programs, improve resource allocations, capacity upgrades of social services agencies which provides relief to poor, abused, victimized, violated and marginalized citizens.

We remain concerned with the state and future of the Public Health System which appears to be have been classified as a nonessential service by the Government to the detriment of the many citizens who depend on those public health institutions for life saving services.

We call on Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet and Health & Wellness Minister, Mary Isaac to open the Owen King EU Hospital, a facility donated by the European Union to the people of Saint Lucia and to complete St. Jude Hospital, so that the citizens of the South may have a fighting chance at life.
