On Sunday, November 16, 2025, the Phili J. Pierre SLP governmet hosted the official handover ceremony of the St. Jude Hospital at its original site in Vieux Fort.
According to a social media ost from Prime Minister Pierre ahead of the ceremony This moment is more than the completion of a hospital. It is a restoration of dignity, a return to truth, and a promise fulfilled. We said that we would deliver St. Jude, and on Sunday, you the people of Saint Lucia will join me in witnessing this momentous occasion.
The Saint Jude Hospital was destroyed by fire in 2009 which resulted in services being relocated to the George Odlum Stadium where it remained for 16 years.
