Packed schedule for emancipation day

The Slavery Abolition Act signaled the end of slavery in the British empire on August 28th 1834. Observed throughout the Caribbean on August 1st, Emancipation Day is a momentous occasion for people of African descent.
A number of events have been planned to mark the occasion, but will other recreational activities overshadow the observance.
