OPPOSITION RAISES CONCERNS ABOUT APPOINTMENT OF MINISTER’S WIFE TO TEACHERS SERVICE COMMISSION BOARD

The opposition St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has taken issue with the wife of the minister for economic development being appointed to the board of the teaching service commission. The SLP argues that getting spouses of ministers involved at such a level, sends a poor signal on the issue of the fairness and impartiality of such an important organisation.

  1. I agree. There should be clarity and the absence nepotism relating to any family member and job security. She is able and capable of finding a job in some other sector, that would not hinder the public’s trust in her, or her husband.

    Anyway, this is St.Lucia. Anything goes. As long as there is a $$$$$ involved.
