OECS GRAND MANGO FESTIVAL

The Mango Has Been Called By Nutritionists The World Over As A Super Food. The Fruit, Which Is Packed With Nutrients Is Abundant In St. Lucia And Is Very Much Under-Utilized. To Address, This The Forestry Department Will Be Staging A Grand Mango Festival At Constitution Park In Castries On Friday August 31st. The Festival Is Part Of The OECS Mango Biodiversity Project, Funded By The European Union. Friday’s Festival Will Also Highlight The Value And Importance Of The Plant And Its Fruit. The OECS Mango Bio-Diversity Initiative Is Being Implemented In The Eastern Caribbean. One Of The Objectives Is To Address The Problem Of Reforestation With The Planting Of Over Six Thousand Mango Plants. The Project Comes To A Close At The End Of November 2018.
