NHC, PRIVATE SECTOR COLLAB FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The cost of owning a land and house package is set to go down this year. So says Chairman Timothy Mangal, who outlined his ambitious plans for the sector in a media interview prior to the start of Tuesday’s Senate sitting on the appropriations bill.

1.5 million dollars has been allocated in the 2018/2019 budget for the Housing Construction program. The National Housing Corporation (NHC) has laid the ground for a number of housing development projects in the past two years.

Now Mangal claims that the price of starter homes might be as low as $80,000. The (NHC) is seeking Public Private Sector partnerships to bring affordable housing projects to citizens to fruition.

Back in 2017, the Chair indicated that NHC was also considering the revision of the rental rate at the CDC apartments.

  1. What about fixing the road in the NHC Development Millennium Highway What about garbage, road and sidewalk maintenance at all of the developments. No interest is being showed by NHC. Receiving payments for the lots and houses is all NHC is concerned about. No wonder the NHC is always broke because persons do not like their style of maintenance after selling their lots whilst regret purchasing from them.
