MINISTER MONTOUTE DONATES SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO CONSTITUENCY SCHOOLS

[Press Release] The under-privileged children from the Gros-Islet constituency are now better equipped to attend school now that the Parliamentary Representative Hon. Lenard Montoute, has handed over school supplies to the Gros Islet, Monchy and Grand Riviere Primary schools.

The handing over ceremony took place on Friday September 7th, 2018 at the Gros-Islet Primary School. 

 

The schools each received school bags, school supplies and an estimate of 1500 notebooks each. These were donated by Mr. Sheldon Cherry and wife residing in the United States, Mrs. Barbara Montoute and Ms Angela Dirose. 

 

Minister Montoute stated that people should try to assist the under-privileged children in their constituency and ensure that they get an opportunity to receive an education.

 

 “I want to appeal to people to support our schools our efforts can go a long way if we all come together in making a contribution to support our schools. It is my responsibility to assist the human resource in my constituency. To achieve the goal of overall human development education must be the centre piece. Children, the future of our society depends on you and so it is my pleasure to invest in you. We have faith
in you and we want you to grow up to be good citizens. ”

The principal and students from the Gros-Islet primary school expressed their gratitude for the much-needed supplies.

“On behalf of the staff, students, parents and the Monchy Community I want to extend heartfelt thanks to you and all those who assisted in the drive to provide schools supplies to all the students.” 

 

Similar sentiments were echoed by the Principal of the Monchy Primary School. One teacher stated that the donations will help boost student moral.

“We are happy that the children are being recognized and given a boost so that they can continue to aspire to the top.”

Minister Montoute appealed to Gros-Islet residents to continue supporting the schools in their constituency.
