Veteran Barbadian calypsonian and cultural ambassador Dr. Anthony ‘The Mighty Gabby’ Carter arrived in Saint Lucia on 3 May, for the much-anticipated legacy concert.
Gabby is as popular for his social activism as his lyrics and when he stopped by the HTS studios on 3 May, he spoke about his ongoing protest of beach privatization.
At a time when many Caribbean countries are hedging their bets on the tourism industry, he says Caribbean nationals must never forget that the beach belongs to them.
The Mighty Gabby says Caribbean nationals should be passionate about the environment and their natural heritage.
He says his famous song jack, a crowd favourite for decades, should remind the region that people need to defend their patrimony.
