Mexico congratulates Saint Lucia on its Independence

On the occasion of the 39th Anniversary of Independence of Saint Lucia, Mexico extends congratulations to the Government and people of Saint Lucia and expresses its wishes for the continued prosperity and wellbeing.

In recognition of this Anniversary, President Peña Nieto of Mexico sent a letter to the Governor General of Saint Lucia, His Excellency Emmanuel Neville Cenac, in which he celebrated the historic events being commemorated as a wind in favour of the unity and success of the Saint Lucian people. The President also sent a letter to the Prime Minister, the Honourable Allen Chastanet, in which he congratulated all Saint Lucians for the Anniversary and expressed his intention to continue the efforts to consolidate the relations between the two nations based on friendship, cooperation and respect.

The Ambassador of Mexico to Saint Lucia, His Excellency Oscar Esparza Vargas, will participate in the events to commemorate this Anniversary, including the Military Parade and National Celebratory Rally.

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1979, Mexico has continued in its endeavours towards the strengthening of this bilateral relation. A distinguishing characteristic of this friendship is the numerous and increasing areas of cooperation, including agriculture, security, health, and infrastructure, like the construction of a water treatment system in Dennery North.
