LIAT resumes operations to islands affected by Tropical Storm Don

Regional airline LIAT says it has resumed normal operations following interruptions to its service caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Don yesterday.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the airline stated said it has started operations to stations that were closed due to the passage of Tropical Storm Don.

The office at St. Vincent has reopened and flights which are scheduled for today will operate as normal. The operations at Grenada are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

Passengers who have been affected will be allowed to rebook until July 30th with all change fees waived, the statement said.

Passengers are being advised to contact LIAT’s Call Centre for rebooking: 1-888-844-LIAT (5428) Toll Free from destinations within the Caribbean Region.

Tropical Storm Don weakened after crossing the Windward Islands and is not expected to regain strength as it drifts into the Caribbean Sea this week, forecasters say.

Tropical storm warnings and watches have been dropped for the Windward Islands.
