St. Lucia’s star highjumper Levern Spencer, brought her prolific 2018 season to a fitting climax with another medal winning performance on the international scene.
Representing team Americas for the third consecutive time at the prestigious Continental Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic last Sunday, Spencer cleared the bar at 1.93m to win her second bronze medal at this event which is held every four years. This performance earned her 6 points which contributed to her continent winning the overall
trophy by defeating the defending champions Europe. Spencer’s previous medal was kin Split, Croatia in 2010.
Placing 1st in this event was World No.1 Mariya Lasitskene representing Europe, with Uzbekistan’s No.1 Svetlana Radzivil placing 2nd. They cleared 2:00m and 1,95m respectively.
The world class highjumper from St. Lucia is now on a well deserved break after a richly rewarding season which saw her win gold medals at the CAC Championships, Nacac Championship & Commonwealth Games, just to name a few.
