
Francis Lalanne, commonly known as “Monkey” of Balata, Babonneau on July 6th, appeared in the First District court Gros – Islet on charges for preparation for commission of a crime.
Lalanne reportedly, turned himself in to authorities on July 5th. A previous police investigation conducted at Lalanne’s Balata residence in June led to the alleged discovery of more than 20 sets of car keys.
Police sources disclosed Francis Lalanne is a key suspect in a recent spate of auto-thefts.
Gregory Cyril told HTS News4orce he is a victim of car theft. Cyril, a coconut vendor, said his vehicle was stolen on July 5th. The victim of auto-theft stood outside the First District during Lalanne’s arraignment. He hopes authorities can prosecute and convict those responsible. [Watch video.]
A Magistrate granted bail for Lalanne in the sum of $3000 or suitable surety. Bail conditions require Lalanne to report twice weekly to the Babonneau Police Station and remain indoors between 9 pm and 5 am nightly.
Francis Lalanne is scheduled to make another court appearance on August 3rd.
