Fire Service Responds to Minor Oil Slick

A truck hauling a Rubis fuel tanker along Jeremy Street in Castries mid-morning April 28th apparently encountered mechanical difficulty that caused the fuel tank to detach.

The malfunction caused a minor oil slick.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service was called in to contain the spill.

The incident caused a temporary shut down of the western section of a typically bustling Jeremy Street.

 

No injuries were reported as a resulted of the incident.
