FIRE OFFICERS WANT EMERGENCY DISPATCH SERVICE

Senior fire officers are calling for a dispatch service with trained operators to coordinate emergency calls for the deployment of first responders. They say confusion over the emergency numbers 999 and 911 amid the ongoing pandemic has highlighted the need for people tasked with receiving calls and organizing the response of emergency services.
