[Press Release] The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. began a National Referee Course on Tuesday 10th April 2018 at its headquarters in La Clery that will end on Saturday 14th April 2018.

32 Referees have been registered to follow the course to be run by two FIFA Instructors; Mr. Hermenerito Leal a former FIFA World Cup referee and Ms. Keisha Antoine from Grenada, the only female Referee Instructor in our region.

The Referees will undergo a fitness test today Wednesday from 6:00 am at the George Odlum Stadium after which they will return to the Association’s headquarters and continue the week with theory, practical and fitness instruction by the instructors.

Five Referees will be selected to attend the CONCACAF Training Program in Miami in August 2018 during the CONCACAF Under 15 Girls Championship as part of their possible nomination to the 2019 FIFA Referees List.

The National Referees Committee and the Referee Department will continue to work with the referees to make them more efficient and capable officials.
