Emancipation Day march for peace

GIS:-The Aug. 1 Activity Aims to Promote Non-Violence and Respect for Life.

The Archdiocese of Castries in collaboration with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Saint Lucia have organized a National Day of Prayer and Fasting, and a March for Peace and Non Violence.

The objective of the activity is to express the need for greater solidarity for building a culture of nonviolence in Saint Lucia; highlight the importance of prayer and fasting for the security, welfare and good of our nation; realize that the word of God calls us to be “peacemakers” (Matt. 5:9); plant the seed of peace in the hearts of all Saint Lucians as a means of overcoming violence at every level of society; pray and fast for healing and reconciliation where there is hurt, hate, anger, brokenness and the need for forgiveness; and promote respect for life and human dignity.

The activity is slated for Emancipation Day, Aug. 1.
