The St. Lucia Stars continue to flip flop after winning another game on Friday August 24th– their second for the season- only to further disappoint their fans following day. It was just the week before that the Stars ended their 15 match losing streak, only to add themselves to the record books by finishing with 69, the third lowest CLP score in the tournament’s history, a mere 4 days later.
In their match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Friday August 24th, Stars won by 6 wickets. However on Saturday August 25th, the Jamaica Tallawahs powered themselves to a 21 run victory, with St. Lucia’s Johnson Charles contributing 34 runs to their win, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. Pollard top scored with 46, while Llendl Simmons and David Warner followed with 45 and 42 runs respectively.
Pollard’s run total now stands at 330, the highest this season.
Stars will face the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots on August 30th when the tournament moves to Jamaica. However this evening, be sure to catch the game between the Barbados Tridents and the Trinbago Knight Riders from 6pm on HTS.
For the points Standings, Jamaica is in the lead with 8 points. St. Kitts & Nevis, Trinidad & Tobago, and Guyana are in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots respectively with 6 points. Barbados follows with 4 and St. Lucia are at the bottom of the table, also on 4 points.
