CHIEF TRANSPORT OFFICER ON SPATE OF ROAD CRASHES

Amid concerns about serious vehicular collisions on the nation’s roadways, the Chief Transport Officer says more emphasis needs to be placed on road safety awareness and education.

  1. I don’t think that this Head Line is appropriate in this regard or if the transport officals are of the view of such then it bare no basis for improvement. As it relates to the constant vehcular accident every day on our road is the lack of POLICE presence. I couldn’t care what the public cry out and say there is a demading need for Police to be on the road morning – noon and night. Enfoce the law and don’t let the law act only for convenience. Impliment a score rate that will eventually prohibit certain people from driving after certain amount of accident and dangerous ones stiffer penality. Also impliment when a vehicle cause damages to the public structure let them pay for it’s repair, go in the bank account and take it out. All over st. lucia they are evidence of accident which tells a different story considering we are a tourism country.
