CDB PREDICTS GROWTH, CONCERNED ABOUT UNEMPLOYMENT

The president of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) says the region is in its strongest fiscal position since the start of the 2008 global recession. While he remains encouraged by improvements in global economic conditions, Dr. Warren Smith says unemployment in the Caribbean remains too high and the region continues to face risks that include the impact of natural disasters. He presented the bank’s annual Caribbean Economic Review and outlook on 7 February.
