BOSL committed to young culinarians

[Press Release] Through a continued commitment from Bank of Saint Lucia who have sponsored the SLHTA Chefs In School Programme over the past four years, SLHTA is in a better position to continue its work in the area of Human Resource Development.

The Association understands that the sustainability of our tourism product depends heavily on the people who offer the products or services. Therefore, the work of the SLHTA is one that remains a priority on its agenda and with the support of corporate partners, we can do a lot more.

Further, Bank of Saint Lucia’s aim is ensure that they contribute positively to the economic and social development of Saint Lucia’s youth. Thus, they have embarked on a series of programmes guided by their Corporate Social Responsibility Policy. This policy is the blueprint for a structured approach towards the development of the Saint Lucian people.

SLHTA would like to thank Bank of Lucia for sponsoring the 6th Annual Chefs in Schools Programme. Bank of Saint Lucia has been a supporter of the programme from since 2014 and continues to sponsor the event today.

The programme is targeted at Secondary School students with a keen interest in Culinary Arts. Every year the SLHTA reaches out to at least 5 schools around the island to participate in the event. This year is no different with five schools participating in the programme. The programme then culminates into a National Competition where the winners will represent Saint Lucia at a regional event held in Barbados. The competition is sponsored in full by the SLHTA’s Tourism Enhancement Fund.
