ACM PRESIDENT WARNS AGAINST SOCIAL MEDIA REGULATION

The president of the Association of Caribbean Media Workers says while people must remember that social media is subject to existing laws including defamation legislation, authorities need to be cautious in their attempts to regulate social media content.

Wesley Gibbings’ comments follow the arrest of two young Vieux Fort men, who have since been charged for using obscenities in a social media post.
