[Press Release] The National Archives Authority of Saint Lucia (NAASL) will stage its annual Archives on Parade on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Constitution Park from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
The annual event allows the National Archives to share aspects of its work with the public. “We take the Archives to the people, giving the public an opportunity to see the work of the National Archives in action”, stated Mrs. Margot Thomas, National Archivist.
This year the theme for “Archives on Parade” is: Let’s Save Your Photo Albums”. For this, the National Archives is inviting the public to make donations to the National Archives of their historic personal photos or photos of national interest. Mrs. Thomas added: “If members of the public do not wish to part with their photos, the Archives will digitize copies on-the-spot and original photos will be returned to their owners.”
The National Archives is particularly interested in donations of funeral leaflets and copies of eulogies.
As usual, at Archives on Parade, there will be a collection of historic photographs on display and staff will be on hand to talk about additional services provided by the National Archives.
